What we collect.
Last updated 18 July 2026
The plain-English version: we collect the minimum needed to sell you software, deliver it, and work out whether our ads are worth running. We do not sell your data for money, and you can opt out of the advertising side at any time.
Who we are
Faceworld Instruments is a digital storefront operated by Faceworld Studios. This policy explains what we collect when you visit the site, buy a product, or join our mailing list, and what we do with it.
Information you give us
- Email address — when you join the mailing list or claim the free ARTIFACTS pack.
- Order and billing details — name, email, billing address, and payment confirmation, when you buy something. Payment card details are entered on Shopify's checkout and are processed by Shopify and its payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
- Anything you send us — the contents of support emails you write to us.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we receive some technical information automatically when you browse:
- Device and browser type, screen size, operating system, and language.
- Pages you view, links you click, and how you arrived at the site (for example, from an ad or a search engine).
- IP address and approximate general location derived from it.
- Cookies and similar technologies, including advertising cookies described below.
How we use it
- To deliver what you bought — sending download links and license keys, and providing support.
- To run the store — processing orders, preventing fraud, and fixing bugs.
- To send you email you asked for, such as product news and free assets. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- To measure and improve our advertising, so we show ads to people likely to be interested and stop paying to show them to people who are not.
Advertising and the Meta Pixel
We use the Meta Pixel, a tracking tool from Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram), on this site. It records actions such as viewing a page, adding a product to the cart, or submitting your email, and reports them to Meta.
Meta uses this to measure whether our ads work, and to help us show ads to people on Facebook and Instagram — including people who have visited this site before, and people who resemble our customers. Depending on your settings, Meta may connect this activity to your Meta account.
You can limit this. Meta's own ad settings let you control how your activity is used for advertising, and browser-level tracking protection or an ad blocker will also restrict the pixel. See the opt-out section below.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only with the service providers that make the store work:
- Shopify — hosts our product catalogue, checkout, order records, and customer list.
- Meta Platforms — receives site-activity data through the Meta Pixel, as described above, for advertising measurement and targeting.
- Vercel — hosts this website and processes standard server request logs.
- Law enforcement or regulators — only where we are legally required to, or to protect our rights and our customers' safety.
A note on 'sharing' under privacy laws
Some privacy laws, including in California, treat the use of advertising tools like the Meta Pixel as 'sharing' or 'selling' personal information for targeted advertising, even when no money changes hands. We want to be straightforward about that rather than hide behind the wording: our advertising cookies do fall into that category, and you can opt out as described below.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use ones that are strictly necessary to run the site — such as remembering the contents of your cart — and advertising cookies set by the Meta Pixel.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break the cart and checkout.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it, or object to how we use it — including opting out of targeted advertising. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
To make a request, email support@faceworld.store. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will respond within the time your local law requires.
To unsubscribe from marketing email, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send. We also honour Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser as an opt-out of targeted advertising.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept as long as we need them for tax, accounting, and warranty purposes. Mailing-list addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Technical logs are kept for a short period and then discarded.
Security
The site is served over encrypted connections, and payment details go directly to Shopify's checkout rather than through our own systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold.
International visitors
We operate from the State of California, United States, and our service providers may process your information in the United States and elsewhere. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from the ones where you live.
Children
This store is intended for professional and hobbyist video editors and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be made clear on the site.
