CRT STUDIO

Film the screen, without filming a screen.

$67pay once

CRT STUDIO turns a flat layer into a display you can photograph. Move the camera across the glass, choose the point that stays sharp, let the edges fall out of focus, and tune the phosphor structure until the image feels emitted instead of overlaid. It all stays inside After Effects, ready to animate with the rest of your comp.

  • Native After Effects effect, applied directly to a layer
  • Eight display models, from consumer CRT and slot mask to LCD and LED
  • Twenty-four starting looks for straight-on, macro, side-focus, broadcast, arcade, and degraded screens
  • Camera angle, target, distance, focus point, depth of field, roll, distortion, and vignette
  • Resolution-aware pixel density, scanlines, emission, glow, and temporal screen behavior
  • Animate the controls over time inside After Effects
  • Pay once, keep forever. No subscription.
  • Commercial-use output

control every pixel

Control every pixel.

CRT STUDIO emulates the real science behind a screen — phosphor cells, aperture grilles, scanlines, and the way light emits through the mask. Others fake the look with a grid overlay pasted on top; CRT STUDIO rebuilds the display itself, so every pixel is yours to shape.

the camera is the effect

Stop laying a grid on top.

CRT STUDIO treats the screen, the image, and the camera as one shot. Phosphors carry the picture. Bright areas energize the display. Focus follows the glass instead of blurring the whole frame evenly.

Move the camera01
Change the camera angle, target, and distance to turn a flat frame into a photographed surface.
Pull focus02
Place the focus point where the image should hold, then let depth of field soften the glass around it.
Choose the screen03
Move from classic phosphor masks to broadcast, plasma, LCD, and LED structures without rebuilding the shot.

inside after effects

One effect. The whole shot.

Apply CRT STUDIO to a layer, choose a starting look, then animate the controls you need. The essentials stay visible. Lens, display, motion, and temporal controls stay folded away until you want them.

eight display models

Start with the hardware.

Each model changes the structure carrying the image, not just the texture sitting above it. Pixel density and cell gap remain live so the screen can hold up from a wide shot to a macro.
